New life for old stuff
I am coming to the end of a bunch of things I was working on. Time to get a few new/old projects in queue.

The space between
Little to report this week, or at least to report with victory photos. 10 squares left on the blanket, finished 2 of the 4 hand-sewn buttonholes. Did a gauge swatch with some Berroco Maya and found that my knitting and purling gauges different enough to matter. I think I’ll experiment a bit with tension and see if I can even it out. This weekend was dedicated to sorting, though. I have a rather deep cupboard where all the fibery bits go. After a handful of projects it gets rather disorganized and I’m really not sure what to start on next. Out it all came, sorting happened, and it all made…

Blanket shirt: Done! -ish
The trim is on, the closures are on, I declare this shirt done enough for now. Yay! I have a detachable hood to sew and I have a bit of trim left, so I may do more, but I am happy with this. Note to self: brush off lint before taking photos. Oh well. This is a project that Mom and I found in the bottom of a cedar chest. I started this farmer’s shirt for my sister when she was still young. Never finished, and now it fits none of us. Cool shirt, hard to get fabric, it needs to get done. It will fit someone someday. And, heck…

Whew! and more
Fourth time’s the charm. It fits, looks decent, and I’m wearing it now. Working on a name. I’m thinking Jane Jetson Got Cold. With all the ridgy bits it reminds me of her outfits. That or Never Again. If I wing one again it will be top down. This was…arduous. The next “Whew”, or perhaps “Thank the gods!” is my lightsaber. I haven’t been able to upload video to here, but it lights up, makes noise, and absolutely delights me! Oh, and the problem I was having where it Just. Would. Not. Work? Would it surprise you that it was a very simple, should have been obvious thing I was…

A slow end to March

Once more onto the breach my friends
So, the swear-worthy sweater is back on track. We will see. It was on time-out most of the week, but I managed to get myself to sit down and get this far. Lots of scribbly math bits on that there piece of paper. Let’s hope that they are good math bits. And though I have my mystery item built, I can not get the micro controller to reset, so I can’t get the programs uploaded. It looks pretty…but is pretty worthless at this point. I need more research…hunting down the Wikis etc, to help me with this stuck spot. With the warmer weather, the weekend has been as much hiking…

Ya know that sweater I’m working on?
A certain lack of success, and an exciting new project.

I thought I’d be reporting a defeat, but…
A weeks worth of assorted projects.

February, oh February
February is where winter starts to feel very…long. We have a blizzard warning tonight. I see continued crafting in my future. So what am I working on? Re-knitting a sweater and a blanket that will be quite the bit of exuberance by the time I’m done. When I knit this the first time, I just kinda winged it. Sad to say it did not go well for me. So, yesterday I got up the gumption to unravel it. I got a book, “Strange Brew” by Tin Can Knits, and it has a nice formula for knitting a top-up Icelandic-style sweater. We will see how round 2 goes. 2 colors of…
