Ya know that sweater I’m working on?
So, the sweater that I ripped up, recalculated, and reworked this week…does…not…fit. I did manage to not throw it across the room, but man.
The sleeves and the torso fit fine, so the problem is in the decreases…and working with a thicker yarn than last round. I’m thinking it knocked my gauge way off. My method of saying “This should work!” and sallying forth, without all the maths, is proving to be…a problem. I’m going to take a few days to actually do ALL the calculations, rip it up, and take one more run. Wish me luck! I think I’ll also try it on more frequently to save on the agony.
The next bit of fun…an electronics project I’ve been thinking about building for months, and now I finally have all the parts! I expect there will be some bashing of my head against the desk as I get the code loaded up properly, but I think the rewards will outweigh the bruises.
Other news. The blanket part four is coming along nicely. Slowly, but steadily. I am teaching myself to hand-stitch buttonholes on a shirt I started decades ago and never finished. It is a challenge. The fabric loves to fray and I am stitching navy on navy. Four of seven button holes left to go! Pics later on that.
And now or something completely different. I took a nice drive along old highway 61 on the way home from Duluth. The lake was windy and kicking up snow, and it looked like it went on forever. A number of very determined ice fishermen were out in it.
