Its been a while…

Not doing so much with the posting the last few weeks. I’m on a few big projects that will just take some time, and I’ve been focusing elsewhere. Here is what I have gotten done:

Beginning Boro embroidery.

I’ve started my jacket. This. Will. Take. A. While. I think I’ll be happy though.

On to the border.

The border is going much faster than the little mitered squares of the interior. I am over half done with this phase. Once the borders are knit and the blanket is assembled, I am going to take a picture of it and plot out the next phase. I’ve started to think of Indian tambour-style embroidery. I think I have the name right…It would be quick, and could be applied with a crochet hook. I can plot the floral plan out on my photo, and since the squares come in a handy dandy grid pattern, it will be easy to follow whatever design I come up with. Don’t hold your breath, but perhaps by mid to late summer I’ll have something to show.

For other? I got the pillow form for Grandma’s pillow, and I don’t like the way the flat sewing and plump pillow interact. I need to stitch a handful of small darts along the edge, and give it another go.

The other other is I did a five session intensive with a gentleman, Rob Nelson, using a modality called Matrix Reimprinting. We worked together for a week and a half. I have been wanting to do this for a few years now. Very pleased with him and the technique. We will see over time what we accomplished.
