Electronics,  Handwork,  Personal Knitting

1 success, 2 in progress

I always get so excited when I manage to successfully complete an electronics project. I have been eyeing this solar marble kit for over a year, and then there was a sale. Whee! The first run at soldering and assembly did not work, and I broke a piece in the building process, but a wee bit more solder and some carefully placed wood glue and we have lift off! or more accurately roll-down!

The bits when they were not working.
The bits assembled and functioning!

Sadly, it is really s–l–o–w, so getting video is not practical. The kit is made by Solarbotics and I got it from Evil Mad Scientist.

My Barnhardt is coming along. The back is finished and I am half way up the front.

Ooooh, comfy!

And I started a new project! Scandinavian Sugar Skulls by Jenny Alderbrant. I am using three Irish girls fingering weights, in Yarn Harbor’s anniversary colorway (silver with sparkles) and a purply magenta tonal.

A bit of sparkly skullage.

The only downside to the hat is the fact that I am using knitting pins. The cost of the Addi’s to do this project was kinda of scary, so I am going old school with knitting pins. Outside of stopping to curse at dropped stitches, I am loving this hat. *Only* 50 more rounds to go.
